Lacuna (aka Daisy) Domestic Short Hair New York, NY

Lacuna is a sweet and very gentle 1.5 year old girl who lived a lot in her short life. At only 7 months old, she gave birth to a litter on the street, and due to her being malnourished, her babies did not make it. The family who cared for her believe this incident made her very depressed and withdrawn. Thankfully, Lacuna is now spayed and living indoors so the stressors of life are minimized for her and she is happier in her foster home!

Lacunas foster states she’s been calling her “Daisy” because she refuses to respond to Lacuna ?
She describes her as a playful but cautious young cat. She was very timid at first with her and wants a good understanding of her surroundings before she got comfy. She hid in her safe space for almost a week but as soon as she was ready, she would ask for all of the pets and scratches. She’s doing very well with her foster brother, although she might “warm up” to her humans a bit faster if she was a solo cat. She usually plays solo with her toy mice and balls with jingles in them. Another favorite game of hers is “human throws the treats and I sprint after them” since she has the long legs of an athlete. She’s relentlessly brave and has taught her foster mom a lot about tenacity. She isn’t a fan of hosting guests (she hides under the bed) but she’ll venture out as soon as they leave - I’d guess she might even enjoy more humans around once she’s a bit more acclimated. She’s a great lazy cat-urday companion and will often cuddle up with her foster mom when binging tv. She’s also a chatterbox and will meow with sweetness and great enthusiasm!
