Meet Sameer
Breed: British Shorthair • Age: 1 • Adoption Fee: $200.00
Introducing Sameer, the brave British Shorthair who made an incredible journey from Kuwait. Found by bystanders on the seashore with just a bowl and a bag of dry cat food his spirit was broken. He had found a hollowed-out piece of driftwood and buried his head within to hide from all his losses. Luckily he found local rescue in Kuwait and Ruby Whiskers was able to fly him to Chicago where his new life would be. Unfortunately, after a short while here he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Despite that, Sameer's spirit is strong, and his foster mom believes he deserves a caring and devoted forever home. Sameer may have a resting "I don't care" face but that is the farthest from his attitude. He is loving, purrs all the time, never hides, and is great with dogs, cats, kids, aliens, and the boogeyman. He loves everyone. He is a typical silly guy. If you have a heart full of love and a commitment to providing the special care that Sameer needs, you could be the one to offer him a second chance at a happy and fulfilling life. With his congestive heart failure he is currently on daily meds to keep symptoms at bay. He requires one tiny pill in the am and 2 more in the evening. He takes his pills quite easily as he is a huge fan of pill pockets and you can also hide them in his wet food because he is an excellent eater! Since being on the medication regularly Sameer lives his life as any cat would, crawling into silly places, chasing crumpled pieces of paper, pushing papers off the desk, and having cat zoomies. He deserves a forever home that will love him, care for him and his needs.
Sameer is currently in a foster home in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. We cannot hold our cats for any reason. Please do not apply unless you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into the home within three days of applying.
ADOPTION FEE: $200.00 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies vaccine, FVRCP vaccines, SNAP test, and general wellness, including dewormer and flea/tick prevention).
