Shirley, like so many cats forgotten by others...had a rough start before coming to HART. Her story begins on the porch of one of our supporters when she showed up with her just days old wee little kitten, Racer. After arriving at HART in October 2023, Shirley just completely shut down. She was scared and not able to take care of Racer. Fortunately, we had George who had recently given birth and was more than happy to take on the little kitten. We worried Shirley would remain, the same scared, motionless girl...and then she started to relax.

Will Shirley be a crazy gets the zoomies in the middle of the night, scream at you that her bowl is empty even though you can see its half full, cuddle bug that so many cats turn in to? Maybe. But for right now, she is a soft, sweet, occasionally talkative girl who loves a good hammock and a soft bed or blanket to stretch out on. She loves to be brushed and petted (head especially around the ears). You will almost always find her latest catnip mousie drowned in her water bowl.

We estimate Shirley's DOB September 2022. She is more of an observer when the other cats are out, but does not appear to dislike them. She is fully vetted, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed (because seriously the world CANNOT take another Racer), and tested negative for FIV/FELV. Adoption fee is $50.
