Cheyenne German Shepherd Dog Mix Vaughnsville , OH

Cheyenne is a stunningly beautiful girl. We have had her for over six weeks and she has shown some improvement but is still fearful. She will come into the living room on her own and hang out with us and the other dogs and she sleeps in the bedroom with us, she even likes to go in there and lay sometimes. She used to stay in the kitchen as far away from everyone as she could get. She has never had a potty accident. She has never shown any aggression, has never made a sound. She plays with our other dogs and she will let us pet her. She sometimes seems like she wants to interact but then her fear gets the better of her. We think she’d do well in a house with another dog to make the transition easier and to minimize her fears. She seems to have some training, will scratch to get in a door. We’ve never had to tell her no. She is doing better now but when we used to let the dogs out, she was too afraid to come back in.
She’s getting much better. She actually scratched at the door and came in today. I usually leave the inside door open (the doggie door is in the storm door) and let them come in when they’re ready but it’s been too muddy or too cold.
She has been through something awful and we think it might be a woman who mistreated her because she is more afraid of women, and she is making progress.
She will need someone who is patient and willing to work with her. She enjoys chew treats (Buffalo cheek rolls) but hasn’t shown any interest in toys. We love Cheyenne and hope she is able to overcome her fears and have the life she deserves.
