Ivar Pit Bull Terrier Conrad, MT

This is The Ivarsky (or Dudicus), coming at you loud and clear. I am almost 3 yrs old and Kim says I am a dynamo! I'm not sure what that means, but she will tell you later. I can be a couch potato or active, I do love to play and I love kids. I am house trained, good on a leash, crate trained, and very very curious! I like to inspect anything that looks or smells good. Cats, small animals (like the squirrel in the tree) make me chase them and I have a hard time listening to leave it then. Ok, I do have high prey drive. So, if I am not in fenced yard, I probably should be on a leash so I don't make the neighbors angry at you. And be with me outside... so we can play and you can keep me from chasing things I should not.
I can be very active or a couch potato, I am fast and kinda quiet. I will follow you around the house or yard just to be near you. I know basic commands, leash and crate trained. I bet if you tried teaching me, I could be a great frisbee catcher cause I like to jump over things like the back of the couch... so far about 3 feet, but maybe higher! Kim is gonna tell you a few things I don't think are naughty but she does.

Ivar is cute as can be, has some special needs as stated below. His original pawrents rescues him when he was 4 months and about 6 lbs. He almost did not make it. They treated him like a human baby, with his cuddles and he got away with alot. He used to jump into his dads' arms when he got home. Spoiled rotten. LOL. He is very headstrong at times, and does have high prey drive. In a previous adoption, I believe he was hit and had a cigarette burn in one week. Then a foster let a cat in the house and Ivar decided cats were to be chased and while not crunchy, would be tasty with catsup. He is very particular about any male dogs, he prefers no Alpha males and could be picky with others. Small dogs he is either territorial about or does not like.
He also counter serfs more actively than my Great Dane! She sniffs and leaves it. If you are not there, if it is in his reach on counter or stove, he will get it. No matter what it is. Loves to cuddle and just be near you. Working on letting him know jumping up, nose nibbles, and covering your face with his body are not acceptable to most people. He also does not like his feet touched, one paw at a time for nail care. Loves a bath, so should like going into a stream or lake at least to his knees.
Due to his history, we are very, very particular about who and where Ivar goes. He is to stay in the state of Montana, and Pink Paw Rescue Society will keep a close eye on his new home. He has been failed too many times and deserves the best home. He really is quite sweet and so cute! His new home should have a fenced in yard, he is NEVER to be tied out, male dogs in home must meet him before adoption and kept separate if you are not in the same room with them at all times, female dogs his size that like to play are his jam! . You must understand and be very familiar with a very prey driven Alpha male pittie before.
