My Story

Home2Home-nc Adoption Assistance [email protected] Nevada City, Ca Adoption within 90 miles preferred : JIM, a rare Llewellyn setter How handsome is Jim? Answer: Extremely. This 7 year old Llewellyn Setter has retired from hunting,, and is looking to find a loving family with some land for him to chase birds and count the butterflies. Jim is fine with kids and other dogs. He is definitely a country boy. Lived with horses. Not a big fan of car traffic, so a place at the end of the road would be lovely. His gorgeous setter coat picks up stickers, so his former family kept him in a nicely mowed area. When inside, he is happy to retreat to his crate, or lounge in a comfy chair. He has always had inside privileges. He loves action, and running and playing, but knows how to chill too. He had a very special bond with his mom, but likes men also. Jim is having neuter surgery in February. He weighs about 70 lbs. he is current on shots. He will need your patience while learning to know a new routine and get to know you. He’s a tad nervous with new people. He’s a wonderful dog, and is well worth the time it will take. If you want to go bird hunting, he’s still “game.” Only people with setter experience please. These are working dogs, and Jim’s no exception. Know your breed characteristics. Jim says, thank god I’m a country boy!
