Mikey Pit Bull Terrier & Terrier Mix Bradford, VT

Oh Mikey. We all know how every animal is special, but poor Mikey, he has gone through so, so much and he is unfortunately, it makes him a special needs pup. Mikey came to us from GA, after suffering from a pretty bad anal prolapse. He had corrective surgery and was with a VT foster home. He had stages of doing better, then doing worse going back and forth. We absolutely took him for multiple fecals and checks as his poop was never right, and he didn’t seem to be growing as his siblings were. So now here is Mikey. He’s around 8 months old now. We have him closer to us with and he was just re-examined. His prolapse is all healed, but he needs to go for further testing as something within his gut/digestive system is off. His poops are better, he was originally straining each time, but he is doing better, he hasn’t had any accidents and he has gained 5 lbs. From here, Mikey has another follow up in the works, he will possibly need a special diet, probiotics and or supplements and vitamins to help his body absorb what it is having trouble with. So all of these issues and concerns makes Mikey even more special. He will need someone who is able to care for and understands his needs. Mikey is adorable, loves to snuggle with his foster day, go for car rides, hang out and loves to play with other dogs.

All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary.

Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies.

Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England. Please note we do not adopt animals into Canada.
